There was a wooden shelter
approximately halfway to our overlook destination that was easily
visable from the trail and provided a good resting spot. There is
a small spring a few yards behing the shelter that provided water
replinishment. We did use a water filter, although the spring looked pristeen.
Although there was a large clearing all around the campsite and
shelter, this time of year we encountered bees that occasionally stung
several of us. It wasn't just the campsite as we encountered them
when the growth closed in on the trail at various places during the
hike. It was a hot day and several added long sleeve shirts to
reduce risk of being stung. This rough shelter looked like a great
place to be able to bed down after a good day of hiking for over night campers.
